The definition of a planet includes the following from the International Astronomical Union:
- A celestial body that is in orbit around the sun.
- Is massive enough for it’s self-gravity to create a nearly round shape.
- Has cleared the neighborhood around it’s orbit.
So, the only winning candidates for this definition are . . . drumroll please, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune (Pluto has not cleared its orbit).
