VladKonstantinovTriceratopsIt would be the ultimate dream of millions (including myself) of adults and kids to actually see a real, live dinosaur. But, will it ever happen?

The truth is, there is a time in the future that we may actually see real, live dinosaurs! Let me explain.

After the Rapture of born-again Christians from this earth (1 Thessalonians) there will be a time called the tribulation. This lasts for seven years and then, when Jesus Christ comes back to earth He brings in the thousand-year reign, with Himself on the throne. Then, after these thousand years there shall be one last fight with the devil and then he shall be thrown in the lake of fire . . . forever.

After this the refreshing of the heaven and earth shall be fulfilled. In this description of the refreshed earth the Bible says:

And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. (Revelation 21:4)

To me, and other Bible scholars (such as Tim LaHaye), believe God doesn’t only repair His creation but He re-creates it, restoring it to its pre-fall beauty. Now, this isn’t mere speculation on a dinosaur nerd’s part. No, if you examine the text you will find that it plainly says God will have all those “extinct” animals restored.

. . . and there shall be no more death . . .

So, if anyone were to read that they would probably think it just meant that no more living things would die. If you keep on reading through the verse you can easily pick up the message.

. . . for the former things are passed away.

The “great voice out of heaven” (Revelation 21:3) that said these words listed five things that would not exist in God’s new world: tears, death, sorrow, crying and pain. And then the voice says that “for the former things are passed away.”

These last seven words get to the heart of the new world by saying the “former things” (everything relating to the past world, including extinction [no death]) have passed away. If extinction, or near extinction, is included in the death category then these verses must mean that all of Creation, as it was pre-Fall, will be restored.

And, if all of Creation is restored then that means that dinosaurs, pterosaurs (flying reptiles), pliosaurs (marine reptiles), plesiosaurs (marine reptiles), extinct birds (Archaeopteryx), mammals (saber-tooth tiger, mammoth etc.), insects (perhaps even the gigantic, many-foot wingspan dragonflies that are extinct will be re-created) etc. will be restored too!

Imagine that! New TV show: Walking With Dinosaurs (Not Animated). Or “Buddy: The Basketball Velociraptor” (Not Animated). What about “Ten True Rescues Made by Dinosaurs”?

And, my personal favorite: Crystall River Carnival: Camarasaurus Rides – $5. What it would be like to live with dinosaurs! There wouldn’t be any horror-striking dinosaurs from Jurassic Park . . . no, there would be creatures that would give all their glory to God Almighty! I sure hope that happens!
